Laurie Hansen will be speaking on women's health at our February 17, 2010 luncheon.
Laurie delivers babies at Valley View Medical Center, in Cedar City, Utah. She provides medical care, health education and support services to women in all phases of their lives. From the first gynecological exam, to pregnancy and childbirth and through menopause, she is committed to treating each patient with the utmost respect, care and sensitivity.
As a Certified Nurse Midwife, (CNM), Laurie is educated in the two disciplines of nursing and midwifery. She graduated in 1977 from Westminister College, with a bachelors of science degree in nursing. She worked as a RN in labor and delivery at LDS Hospital for over 15 years, before returning to school. After obtaining a masters of science in nurse-midwifery at the University of Utah, she worked as a CNM at LDS Hospital until she moved to Cedar City in 1997. She opened the first nurse midwifery practice here in Cedar City. She is certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives.
