Officer Barbara Barrick will be speaking on June 20, 2008 about self defense. Barbara grew up in Long Beach, California and moved to Cedar City in 1992. She has worked at the Police Department since 1997, beginning as a receptionist, then promoting to executive secretary to Chief Robert Allinson, a position she held for eight years. Two years ago, a Code Enforcement Officer position became available and Barbara tested and was selected. She attended the Police Academy to attain her Special Functions Officer certification and is currently serving the department as one of the two Code Enforcement Officers.
Barbara is the mother of four grown children and one grandchild. She and her husband of five years, Robert, live in Parowan.
